Hello all MicrobeWiki members! I am a third year student in the faculty of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). The increasingly polluted earth makes our experience in researching bioremediating microbial species much more meaningful and worthwhile. Although I don't consider environmental microbiology to be my favourite area in the science, I agree with many others that it has, and will continually be one of the most important focuses to save our earth. The course I had taken for this Wiki submission is a microbial ecophysiology course at UBC, and I hope my efforts can help other students learn more about the benefits of microbial interactions in our environment.
