Description

Alcanivorax borkumensis [1F]

Gram-negative heterotrophic bacteria that live in aerobic marine environments. Members of the genus possess a single flagellum and are thus motile. Alteromonas bacteria were originally grouped with Pseudomonas until 1972 when the members of the pseudomonas family with GC content lower than 50% were moved to the new Alteromonas genus(Mikhailov)
