I was interested in learning about extremophiles, microoganisms found in extreme environments. This interest lead me to writing a microwiki page about the radio-tolerant bacterium Deinococcus deserti isolated from the sand samples of the Sahara desert. |

My name is Michelle. I am currently a third year Microbiology and Immunology student at the University of British Columbia.
