Talk:Zooxanthellae and their Symbiotic Relationship with Marine Corals

From MicrobeWiki, the student-edited microbiology resource

Your page was very interesting to read. I think it would be helpful to label your figures and provide a more descriptive caption for them, as well as referring to them in the text. I think the section on diversity was somewhat unclear, particularly the last sentence about the different clades. If there was a figure of a phylogenetic tree showing the relationship, it would be very beneficial. Overall, it was very interesting to learn about the Zooxanthellae and their complex relationship with marine coral. -Toni Miller

Charlotte, I found your topic particularly interesting because I dove in these coral reef habitats during my fall semester. Zooxanthellae are extremely cool marine symbionts and you did a very nice job explaining their relationship with marine corals. For human impacts I suggest finding an article on the impacts of local fishermen and their use of bleach to obtain P. argus from under coral shelters. Another interesting topic could be the coral reef assessment underwater dive cards that are extremely accurate in assessing zooxanthellae levels.- Ben Hayden
