Introduction

To protect grapevines against fungal infections, winemakers are resorting to using a fungicide called Bordeaux Mixture. [1] The Bordeaux Mixture is composed of copper(II) sulphate (CuSO4), calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), and water. This combination is highly effective and long-lasting, however, is also more phytotoxic than other fungicides. [2]
