Periodontitis is a gum infection that damages any soft tissue and destroys the bone that supports your teeth. This can cause tooth loss or worse. It can be very common but it also preventable. If you don’t brush your teeth for a couple of days, the plaque that has grown on your teeth will begin to harden, and cause tarter to grow. Tarter then makes it harder for the plaque to disappear and will irritate and inflame your gums around the base of your teeth and cause periodontitis. | |||
