Description: Muricauda lutaonesis is a yellow-pigmented, gram-negative, non-motile, aerobic, moderately thermophilic, non-spore forming, rod-shaped bacterium. Cells are 0.3–0.5 mm wide and 8.0–15.0 mm long, and display appendages and vesicles. Growth occurs after 24 hours of incubation at 37 degrees. The growth optimum is 37-45 degrees Celsius, within the complete range being 25-55 degrees Celsius. The pH optimum is 8, with the range being 6-9. The NaCl optimum for growth is 3-5%; a full range of 2-6%.
