Alec,

What an interesting page on a current deadly pathogen. With all of the recent epidemics and Ebola striking close to home, with cases entering America, this is a fascinating subject. The increase in incidence is definitely worrisome due to the extreme high death rates in all of the Ebola outbreaks. It is also very cool that the host response and fighting off of the immune system is so dependent upon a proper functioning immune system, which is our current class topic. Since one necessary immune response to Ebola is MHC-antigen recognition, I wonder if there will soon be a vaccination developed which can help the immune system identify the virus for areas with repeated Ebola outbreaks. Thanks for your hard work in developing this well written, interesting page.
